GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro police are now investigating a homicide after a shooting on Saturday left one person dead and one injured.
Police said they responded to the 400 Block of Rocky Knoll Road around 3:48 a.m. on Saturday in reference to a shooting.
At the scene, police said they found one person who had been shot. The victim, who has been identified as 18-year-old Khasim Burgess, was taken to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Police said their investigation also determined that a second person was shot. The second gunshot victim, a 23-year-old male, was taken to the hospital by private vehicle and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said no suspect information is available at this time, but the investigation is still ongoing.
