Residents confined across Italy turned to music to keep spirits high during the nationwide quarantine, taking to their balconies and windows to communicate with others, clapping, dancing, and singing.

This video shows the sun setting over Rome’s Pigneto neighborhood on the evening of Saturday, March 14, as music echoes between the buildings, and as one resident waves the Italian flag out their window.

The World Health Organization (WHO) reported almost 25,000 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in Italy by Monday afternoon, with just over 1,800 deaths.
